From the photo kindly supplied to the GuidingUK group I have devised the diagram below : on the premise that one picture is worth a thousand words.....

(N.B. this knot can be tied with any number of strands as they are all worked together.)
This knot makes a good friendship pin - simply attach a small safety pin to the back with a few neat stitches.
