"Bar Games"

A good old PGL standby! I've come across others, but these were the games we played this time. The girls had all got changed ready for the disco due to follow the evening ents., but we warned them to go and put old clothes on.....

Game 1 was "Cheeky Monkeys," the PGL version of that wet-weather Guides' standby "Fluffy Bunnies" and involved four "volunteers" competing to see who could get the most orange segments in their mouths and still jump around chanting "Cheeky Monkey...."

Game 2 also involved oranges (we had a lot of oranges left over....) : four more "volunteers" were seated at a table and given helmets to wear. They then had an orange (unpeeled) placed in front of them and were told to sit on their hands. The challenge was to smash the orange with their heads and see who could eat it quickest......

Game 3 was "broomstick walking" : the seemingly simple challenge was to hold a broomsick with both hands and, without letting go, step over it and bring it round the back and over to the front again. Hannah did it easily, without having to sit down .... as for the rest, click on the picture for enlargements!!

Game 4 was seriously messy .... two pairs were provided with a pot of yoghurt and a spoon; one of each pair was offered a bin bag to protect her clothes and all four were blindfolded. The official object of the game was for one to flick yoghurt in the general direction of her partner who had to try to catch it in her mouth, ostensibly to see which pair could collect the most. Then the "flick-er's" blindfold was removed...

Game 5
was the "World Championship Flame Blowing-out Competition." Crouch demonstrated it first - George held out a (lit) lighter for him to blow out. Three volunteers were then taken off out of sight and brought back one at a time to try their luck. To 'make it more difficult' they were blindfolded and had to 'blow the flame out' at increasing distances - which of course they managed, to much applause - the final super blow was into a bowl of flour.....
